Dancers in Forever Tango and Tango Review, in Alan Parker’s Evita, Marcelo Varela and Analia Vega teach at the “Escuela Argentina de Tango” in Buenos Aires, they present their dance in the most prestigious milongas in Buenos Aires and give workshops the world over. They dance folklore since childhood and learnt tango from the most reverenced - Gustavo Naveira, Graciela Gonzalez along with others.
Associating their mastery of the dance with strong personalities, they have created a unique style, clearly recognisable, full of sensuality, joy, liberty…. It’s not said that “Marcelo and Analia dance like so-and-so”, but rather “Marcelo Varela and Analia Vega’s style”.
Partners in dance and in life for a dozen or so years, they are vivacious, adventurous, full of humour, mischievous and perfect accomplices to each other, often breaking out in laughter. Their dance resembles them completely. Bringing in to their dance elements taken from everything that interests them, such as modern jazz and Argentine folklore, they preserve the authenticity of tango, and are more interested in what is shared by the dancing couple that what is seen from outside.
Doted with overwhelming generosity, they teach with open hearts and with a true engagement to their students.
For Marcelo and Analia, tango is not a dance of roles in which one leads and the other follows; Tango is a man, a woman, the music. And in their teaching as in their dance, when they don’t see eye to eye, rather than contradict each other, they simply complement each other to perfection.
